DaviesBaird are more than just a steel foundry. We are able to offer a number of services, utilising the metallurgical and engineering resources we have available.

Heat Treatment: DaviesBaird currently run two main gas Car Bottom Heat Treatment furnances. These furnaces are extensively used for big application in today's industry for Annealing, Normalising, Stress Relieving products of Super Duplex Steel, Martensitic Stainless Steel, Mild Steel, Manganese Steel and Cast Iron. DaviesBaird furnace temperature probes can be designed and developed to meet customer specifications and requirements.

Grades of Metals able to Heat Treat: Super Duplex, Martensitic Stainless Steel, Austenitic Stainless Steel, Pearlitic Manganses Stell, Austenitic Mangalese Steel, Nickel Chrome Molly Steel, Cast Iron & Ductile Iron, White Cast Iron, Mild Steel & Heat Resistant Steel.

Pattern Shop: Facilities for wood, metal and reinforced plastics. We are happy to quote for your pattern requirements. Pattern storage is available.

Machine Shop: We have on hand an extensive range of machinery, particularly suited to machining manganese and wear resistant metals. Please request a quotation for any of your machining needs.

Processing: We have facilities available for processing steel castings and fabrications, such as Arc Air; shotblast; 100, 200, and 300 tonne presses.

Inspection: Our expertise in non-destructive testing covers ultrasonic, dye penetrant and magnetic particle testing. We can arrange radiographic inspection.

Laboratory: NATA approved for chemical tensile, bend, hardness and impact testing.
